I, myself, definitely believe. I've had a few paranormal experiences happen, that scared the shit out of me.
My main story is a pretty long one, so once people start responding (and maybe telling their stories) I'll tell mine :]
Here's my strongest encounter...
I was sitting at my old house, in which I lived with two roommates. My friend was visiting and we were sitting on my bed. I was talking to my ex on the phone and heard (what I thought was) him whisper my name. I said "What?" and he said "...What?". I asked him why he said my name, and he said he didn't. The next time I heard the whisper, he was talking at the same time as the whisper. I told him I'd call him back. My friend and I both heard my name coming from the basement vent (my roommates weren't home at the time, they were out of town for a doctor's appointment). We scooted up on my bed and started freaking. I called my roommate and he told me that there was a ghost named "Charlie" that haunted the apartment building. I hung up with him and called my ex back and he was on speakerphone, he started antagonizing "Charlie" saying... "Charlie's a douche!" and "Charlie's a faggot!"
We then heard someone running at an extremely fast pace up and down the basement stairs. I started screaming at my ex saying he needed to apologize, so he did and the footsteps then slowed down to a more slower & relaxed pace.
I'll never forget that day. It scared the shit out of me.

Though I've never really had a true encounter... that I know of. At least I don't think so. You know I really don't remember.
However I do think ghosts are demons there to trick us into believing they are our loved ones. But that's just me.

This is very possible. I heard from someone that there are no "ghosts", that there are just demons who are manipulating us into thinking that they aren't going to harm us, and then they do. I don't think that's really true since I've heard voices and demons aren't known to speak English...
It all depends, demons were not born on earth like ghost were before they died.
I guess it depends on what you believe happens after death.
Some people believe that spirits stay on the Earth with their loved ones. Some people believe in reincarnation. Some people believe in Heaven and Hell. And some people believe that nothing happens after death.
