The point I was trying to make wasn't should every popular drug be legalized, just my lack of knowledge to the number of types of drugs there are in the streets, I usually leave the room/house in a hurry if I suspect any kind drug abuse, mostly in parties since they often try to get others to join in. But that aside, I agree how its foolish some drugs despite being more harmful are legal... but then the question arises who (or what) can we trust to base whether a drug sohuld be legalized or not?
I am for the legalization of nature-based recreational drugs (hashish, marijuana, and even cocaine). They all have health properties, especially cannabis-based products like hash and pot. Cocaine, which comes from the coca leaf, when used occasionally is like a glass of red wine - it helps cholestorol. I am against chemical drugs, such as amphetamines and non-prescribed painkillers. All it does is get you high, then it makes you crash. As far as alcohol, I think the drinking age across the world should be between 16-18.
The alcohol age limit in Britain isnt enforced the majority of the time anyway, 16 would be reasonable. As for the argument about how Cocaine shouldnt be legalized due to the fact that there are so many toxins and added chemicals when it is cut to lower product costs, you have to think that were it to be legal and therefore published tests etc done for it in the open with the use of vast scientific resource in what would be a multi million pound industry, there would be safeguards and regulating standards etc resulting in a more controlled and safe overall product. Oh and, tried stuff before, not overly impressed, cant say i will or wont again... Glass of hot port is where its at!

no drugs, smoke weed once and a while, drink once and a while, ive done lsd once, best experience in the world, better than sex with the hottest girls, i think all drugs should be decriminalized for personal use, that way they wouldn't be worth anything on the street, and that would lead to so less crime!
most drugs are basically legal since the doctors prescribe them to you, oxycontin, percocet, those are basically the same as heroin, and you get them for pain, adderall is for adhd and its pretty much like cocaine, all meds for anxiety xanax, klonopin, valium, get you extra fucked up, you can trip off of benadryl, cough syrup, alcohol kills more people than anything else, tobacco is just there to get you addicted and give the government money, the only reason drugs are illegal is because the goverment would not be able to make money off them since they are highly available by the public, and them being illegal, when you get arrested you are charged high fine, so the government can make something.
If it is a recreational drug like cannabis, I would say yes, legalize it. So much crime and conflict revolves around the fact that we have illegalized a drug that cannot kill or do serious physical or emotional distress or harm. Although there should be restrictions on how much and where you can use it/buy it, I do not see the harm in allowing cannabis to become legal in the United States.
However, I do not believe the alcohol age limit should be lowered. In fact, I believe it should be raised. The brain does not fully develop until around your mid twenties; meaning, you are not fully developed mentally and emotionally until your 25's-30's. If a underage person drinks alcohol in excess, or even sparingly, it can have an effect on your mental and emotional growth. The alcohol age limit, in my opinion, should be at least 23. 21 seems too young to me, even though 23 has only a 2-year age difference. 730 days can make a huge difference.

i have never heard this effect for a mid twenty yr old. How many ounces of beer per year will do harm? And how much harm? U cant limit everything. Lets ban cigs to everyone. And big macs to everyone. Etc. I say if u can fight and die in a war at 18 u should be able to drink a coors at 18.
People who drink at a young age tend not to limit how much they drink. Which is why so many teens die each year from accidents due to being intoxicated. It's a terrible idea to allow underaged adults or even young adults to drink alcohol if it can endanger others.
Soldiers, I may add, at any age, can experience PTSD. So while an 18-year-old man or woman can join the military and fight, the consequences are still extremely severe. Just because you can do something doesn't mean it is healthy or should be allowed.
