What the conflict is is actually defining what is good and evil. Most things have no problem at all. We can easily classify murder, rape, suicide, genocide, and theft under EVIL and bad and we can classify, fun, sports, bliss, and being well as GOOD.
Now the conflict is with something like intelligence.
Intelligence has contributed to society in untold advancements. BUT! intelligence has also proven to be a hinderance to man in alot of cases.
Is it good or evil? That's the problem, I believe.
e·vil/ˈēvəl/
Adjective: Profoundly immoral and malevolent.
Would you not consider Genocide and torture immoral?
Most people would, that is why most people fancy hitler evl.
No, I do not find it evil. Disgusting, yes. Murderous, yes. Horrendous, yes. Evil, no. Like a quote a friend told me of,
"If there were any true evil, it would lie in the heart of men."
Nothing is evil, we believe things are evil because it is disgusting and an abomination.

Hm. Honestly, I feel no one is evil even sociopaths. Sociopaths, psychopaths, etc. Fascinate me. They have no feeling or emotion for anything and their mental stability is out of control. I always wonder how it must feel... My feelings towards the concept of good and evil is that good and evil do not exist. What someone finds, good might be evil to another and vice-versa. It is pretty much how I view order and chaos. I believe chaos will always exist and order is just an elementary term. There will NEVER be order.
That's basically what I want to study in college. How their minds work. I can never get enough of it. What I believe is that in every good person, there lurks some kind of evil. No matter how small. How I see it is this: When there is chaos, someone tries to take charge and make order. I always see that person as a dictator.
I'm so glad I took a look at this thread. I have something to ponder on and think about for a while.
But like I said, the definition of good and evil varies from person to person.
No one is necessarily born evil but evil does exist.
It's just that it's a sliding scale. Some things are less evil than others.
But where there is a gray area, there must also be a black and white area too (otherwise, how would one make gray?)
Evil exists. So does good. It's a balance or life. For light there must also be darkness and for good there must always be evil.
It's basic human imperfection. Where there is good, there is also evil. Where there is light, there is also darkness.
The definition my vary person to person but again... where there is gray you have to have black and white. You can believe all you want that genocide or murder is perfectly acceptable. But that doesn't make it true. That just means you're insane, and not in the good way.
Evil will never reign over good because humans are basically moral beings. Until we become amoral beings, evil will never triumph. Humans have a sense of what's right and wrong, you see it everywhere. There are gray areas but there are also black and white areas. There are those, however, who have a fucked up sense of right and wrong. They'll do bad things because they think they should be able to - but that doesn't mean they're right. That means they think that they are.

Every person is born with the exact same knowledge of another. Excluding, twins, triplets, etc. Even people born with disorders are born with the same intelle as Albert Enstein when he was born. Nurture and Nature are some of the things that play a role in someone's decisions and lifestyle. For me, I seem to have learned many things on my own. Many of them, my mother and father disagree with me about. Because of this, nature plays a bigger role for me. I am a rebellious child, meaning, I do not agree with most of my parent's ideas. I would like to leave it as nature affects a person more than nurture.
I'll bite.
People aren't born with completely clean slates. They all share the same base level of experience, (none) but it's chemical balances that are somewhat predetermined that will decide how they're more likely to react to things. I did't cry much as a baby, but my mom didn't condition that.
Technically someone can be born and be more likely to fall to the dark side, my point though is that no one is born there.
