And yet it is near impossible to separate religion from politics. Every politician has some type of belief, whether it be Christian, Muslim, etc. Their beliefs inform how they perceive the world and how they interact with different issues.

My point being, while religions may not take an active role in our laws or our politics...Religions are still present.

And for a side note: I've always found it interesting that many in the US have become vehemently opposed to any mention of faith or religion in government buildings, and yet we open our legislative sessions and other sessions in prayer. Interesting.

Marriage is not a basic human right, period. But it ties in with the basic human right for everyone to be treated equally, regardless of who they are or any of their defining characteristics. So I'm not really assuming anything.

I'm serious, it's against the constitution of America. The Church isn't allowed into politics, so why is that when it come to things like Gay marriage and abortions that people start bring Him in?

I find this both unfair and wrong, not only those it sway the mass it also put many many people in tight positions. I believe the death penalty is ok, but then people start getting angry at me and I get nervous to voice my opinions.

What do you think?
Absolutely not. Considering that not all Americans honor the same god(s), it would be constitutionally unfair.
