What's the difference between a "Father" and a "Dad"
What do you think?
Whats a Father?
Whats a Dad?
Personally:
Father: Some one who has been there for you and has never given up on you, he's been there in your life and actually bothered to make an effort to bond with you. Some one who cares for you and wishes the best for you.
Re: What's the difference between a "Father" and a "Dad"
Father- the man who contributed to your DNA.
Dad-the one who watched you grow up, taught you life lessons, helped raise you, etc.
For example, my biological father is my father because he helped conceive me.
However, he is not my dad. My dad adopted me and did his best to do right by me every step of the way. He made sacrifices for me, never missed a soccer game or parent/teacher night, etc.

Mmm, I'm with Sarah. My dad is my biological dad. A dad is just a man; someone who contributes to your DNA - nothing more. A father is a man who's cared and loved you from the bottom of their hearts. Anyone who has a father's a very, very lucky person. See, it feels to me like a I have no 'father' because quite fankly, I hate my dad. That's horrible for me to say considering some people wish they knew their dad, but Idc. They're not missing out on much imo!

They're exactly the same thing, it's just whether you have a shitty biological dad or not, and if you call him your dad/father.
Little white flowers will never awaken you, not when the cold depths have all but overtaken you.
Dearest, The days are all so long,
and in the shadows I spend them all.
My heart and I long for slumber.
Slumber I'm caressing you, I bless your touch, I lust for you.
Slumber you are not a dream, Not as much as you seem.

Father=Biological parent. Does not necessarily care for/about his child(ren).
Dad=Parent, not necessarily the biological parent. Cares deeply about his child(ren), loves taking care of them and watching them grow up.

Re: What's the difference between a "Father" and a "Dad"
I use the terms "father" and "dad" interchangeably. Granted, the only time I might refer to my dad as "father" is when we're having a go and he's pissed me off.
However, in this context... Father is the male who contributed his sperm; he's the biological father. Dad is the male who was there for you. He's the person to whom offered you unconditional love and met your emotional needs, and developed memories with you along the way.
Like I said, I use the terms interchangeably but I do recognize the difference in meaning in this context. I have a "father", but at the same time I have another "dad" who was able to be a "dad" more so than my biological father could have done.
