I understand that most people here are rational thinkers, and would nonchalantly accept that the world is much, much older than 6000 years old.
I'm not going to explain the exact age of the earth, because some people can't even fathom a number that big, and choose to deny it (4.5 Billion-ish)
This is simply fact to refute anyone who (religious or not religious) chooses to believe the world is between the ages of 6000 and 5000 years old.
1.
The Neolithic Revolution
The Neolithic Revolution represents the change from Hunting and Foraging individually or in small tribes, to Agriculture and Settlement. Various evidence and Data shows that Plants and Animals were domesticated in several various locations around the world roughly 10,000-7000 years ago.
There is consistent evidence of this revolution, including things such as ruins and tools which have all been dated to show (roughly) that they are between 10,000 and 7000 years old.
2.
Dinosaurs
Dinosaurs were the dominant species on Earth for about 160,000,000 Years. (160 Million) The bones of Dinosaurs have no doubt been Carbon Dated (fool proof method of determining the age of things) countless times, and they show to be from a period between 230 Million years ago, and 65 Million years ago.
I mean, I honestly don't know how fundamentalists can remain fundamentalist when we have evidence like Dinosaurs... it's all we need really.
3.
Homo Genus (NOTHING TO DO WITH BEING GAY)
Homo Genus (or, a sort of family in layman's terms) is a genus which involves modern humans (Homo Sapiens) and other species which are very very closely linked to us.
When I say, the link is very close, it's closer than the link between Chimpanzees; think of the members of the Homo Genus as being very old humans.
The oldest member of the Homo Genus is the Homo Habilis which lived between 2.3-1.4 Million years ago and originated in Africa. Here is a link of all members of the Homo Genus, and their ages (courtesy of Wikipedia, as the spellings are fucking hard)
Scroll down a bit to find the table... it's not to far down the page, and it shows how old and diverse we humans are. It's fascinating stuff.

I believe I've said enough, and this wasn't aimed at anyone in particular, just any fundamentalists we may have knocking around.
Much Love,
