Default Who is responsible for teaching the youth

Parents?
Teachers?
Peers?

Who do you think is responsible for teaching the youth of your country?

Its the combination of all things that surround him. Teachers, parents, other kids, even objects and media.

People who teach the youth is, for the most part, their parents and teachers.

People who influence the youth the most is your peers. This is at least what I've seen, I guess it varies from person to pertain

that is kind of a complicated question. yes teachers, parents, and peers teach the youth. but who is more responsible is parents and teachers. peers teach other things. BUT also you could include the internet and television. the two of those, mainly internet, can teach some bad habits and some bad things. but some things could also be good that are learned from the internet and television.

Parents first.
Teachers second.
Peers should have very little influence.

Alas, the third is more likely to happen. Although that's not really an education... but people place importance on what their peers think.

Parents are the most important though. As, well, they are the parents. I don't care how good you are at teaching or whatever, the parents should be the primary educators. In life, mostly. Teachers should handle reading, writing, and arithmetic.

only experiences we make, teach us to cope with life. individual persons, surely, are very important, but interchangeable when it comes to the principle of teaching, especially teaching youth.

and all that stuff, that belongs to "intentional education", is simply nothing more than manipulation, cause it mostly don't allow individuals the possibility of free choice. and this form of education is unfortunately the ruling tradition for thousands of years in all cultures around the world.

so, best it's a mix of all three parts.

Coming from a sociology student, you probably know what my answer is going to be. Society should be the ones to educate the youth. It's the one that assigns us our roles, shapes our cultural biases and views etc. And in a way it does. It provides ways for the youth to learn. It turns out methods by which the youth are taught what they need to know or how they fail to learn what they need to know. So in short, The society should educate the youth.

Parents have the main responsibility, I think. Being "brought up" properly is important and if my parents hadn't bothered I think I would be very different to how I am.
Teachers I suppose should but not all teachers seem to be qualified to "teach" some children, I certainly don't think it should just be left to them.

Peers. That seems to be where you learn alot and although you really shouldn't be learning much from them you're probably most influenced by them.

I think parents should raise their own children properly.
