What do you think of popularity? (On the internet or in real)

Do you like to be popular? and what do you think of popular people?

It's really the time for humanity to take a dump.

Urgh. I don't mind "popularity"; it's just when it becomes a detriment to others that it annoys/upsets/angers me. I'm naturally thoughtful of other peoples' feelings, so knowing that there's someone out there who may feel isolated or lonely because they're not as popular as someone else really does concern me...plus I know how it feels.

I personally don't "like" to be popular. I do, however, like to be treated fairly, equally, and with respect. I've been *fairly* popular on a few websites, perhaps even this one in the past; I never really liked it because I know others felt somewhat left-out. I don't know about my popularity in real life; just like the internet, people seem to like me but when it comes to conversing with me or getting to know me...they severing lack enthusiasm/motivation/interest to do so.

Don't risk your identity to be popular...be yourself and talk to everyone, don't discriminate. If you become popular, good for you. If not, so what? There's no official scale to see who's popular. That's what I've always done

I say if you become popular, you become popular.
If you don't, you don't. It's no biggie.
I'm happy to talk to everyone I can, it's good to get to know a variety of people from all over.
I wouldn't risk turning into someone or something I'm not just to make loads and loads of friends. I have never been popular and I have never seen myself as popular and I'm perfectly happy

I don't care if I'm popular or not. I'm quite popular on another website and in real life I think I am too really. I guess it sorta feels good, but people that try to impress others in order to become popular annoy me a lot. I'm quite controversial though, many people dislike me aswell

I like popularity. I just don't like other people being excluded. I am not very popular, so I am not of the "cool" people that I know, but I am not usually excluded from things.

Popularity is how one defines it. For example, I believe myself to be popular amongst a certain group, but we really don't discuss popularity. I have no desire to be popular, nor does any popularity I may have cause me to be big headed. Essentially, I think popularity is stupid, nor do I have any desire to be popular.
