I'm pro-choice. It should be entirely someone's own decision whether they want the child or not, nothing should be essential.

Pro-Choice all the way. I agree with Stacey, you should have a choice of whether to keep the child or not.

Pro-life

Because this thread would get boring without attempting to crucify somebody.

Thank you for choosing an opposing side. So why do you say Pro Life?

Because children are innocent. They've done nothing wrong, they don't deserve to die. Esp. not because of the stupidity of the parents.*
It's not the woman in questions body, it's a separate body that her body is "hosting", so to speak. All life takes time to form fully. That doesn't mean it's any less valuable as a life.

*There are other reasons to, but then people would just start arguing the less than 1% of the time exceptions. I'm aware of rape and incest, but both happen less than one percent of the time and the mothers life being in danger happens even less than that.

Also I've had the somewhat unfortunate experience of seeing a sonogram abortion - but because of that, I've seen the struggle for life happen. You can bitch and argue about what the woman wants day and night 24/7 for all I care, but she's not the one offing herself, is she?

And ignoring all of that, as a woman - I have maternal instincts. More than anything I hate when horrible things happen to those who can't defend themselves. Be it because they're too old, too young, mentally retarded, anything. I hate when people devalue life because they are "undesirable" (except babies and children, but even that's debatable). Unless they are a severe danger, no one should be killed or devalued.

And ignoring all of that, I can't be for abortion in anyway because the one who started the movement for it started it because of Eugenics. Originally, popularizing it was meant to off, well, undesirables like black people or anyone else a bitter old white woman wouldn't like. But mostly black people. And, look, it's working - percentage wise at least. I'm sorta paraphrasing but that's the gist of it. Note I'm saying that's part of why it got popular, so to speak, not how it got started. Just for clarification, i don't want anyone misreading that.
DeepDistress and fay like this.

Pro-choice. It should be your decision whether to keep a baby or not, after all, it's your own body.
Okay, everyone deserves to live, but if you know the baby will have a bad life you should be able to abort it. Not everyone is ready for a child.
