Probably one of the most controversial topics right next to abortion.
I am against the death penalty. But then again, when dealing with politics, i never think with an emotional perspective, only a logical perspective.
Here's my argument: A person's opinion on the death penalty is dependent on one thing, "Is killing someone ever right?" No, never, and no. So, if a cop kills a murderer, then are they just as bad as the murderer, after all they are a murderer in a way. Because they were so called "serving justice" does not condone their actions at all. Think about it, a kid who was bullied all of his life shoots the kids who have bullied him his entire life. He is serving justice in a way, but does that by any means make what he did okay? No. I mean, the bullies or the mass murderers or whatever are DESERVING of a consequence, a punishment, maybe even death, but that's not for humans to decide, especially when there is a possibility that this person MIGHT be innocent. And I do not condone letting people off "easy" either. Take your average person, and they'll tell you they rather DIE, then be in jail for the rest of their life...I know I would. So why not let those criminals ROT in jail and then BURN in hell if that's what you believe?

I agree with Capital Punishment simply because seeing someone rotting away in a jail cell but able to continue living after they took away that luxury from someone I love would not provide me with closure at all.
If anything, I would want them to die the same way they killed my loved one and I would want to be the one to do it, however impossible that would be.

Understandable.

The only time it is acceptable to kill someone is when you are killing a guilty life to save an innocent one. In any other circumstance, killing someone is a violation of human nature. The death penalty needs to be abolished completely.

I don't understand. Are you saying that it's obvious that we should have (and we were right to have) killed him? No, they didn't deserve the death penalty. Now, Operation Valkyrie was the right thing to do because had it been successful, the Nazis would had stopped killing innocent people.

Oh look; it's this thread again!
Killing people for killing people to teach that killing people is wrong... a quite remarkable policy.

This may seem hypocritical as I'm fairly sure I would want to destroy anyone who hurt my girl, but this hardly seems moral to me... essentially, we are saying that we would kill someone for personal satisfaction. Sure, that person has done wrong, but that doesn't change the basic principlie. We would be acting for revenge; not for justice or morality.
Teen Forumz is being weird and just not showing most of my post, so I'm gonna post the rest below this.

Okay so this is taking the piss a bit. Trying to copy and paste a post I made on a previous thread and it's like 1000 words... yet whenever I press "post"/"save" it tells me that my post must be at least 1 character in length -_-
Will try and post properly later this afternoon.

I agree with capital punishment.
Murderers and pedophiles, at least, deserve nothing less than being locked up in prison forever but they aren't. Alot of dangerous people are being let out again and re-offending and I think it's disgusting that someone who has killed a person or sexually assault/murdered a child are allowed back into society after sitting in a prison cell, playing xbox or whatever else they have in prison. Ie pool tables and tv etc. ( I understand this might not be the case in the US).
They say it's because they don't have enough room in prison well, capital punishment, problem solved without putting more innocent people at risk. It frightens me to think these people aren't even getting life sentences anymore, it's unacceptable. The UK is too soft and needs to toughen up and give serious criminals what they deserve. In my personal opinion.
I also agree with capital punishment. I think it should only take action in extreme cases, like murder for example.
Cause let's face it, prisons (Well, in the UK anyway) aren't that bad. There's entertainment for them, and then they only stay there for some years and then can leave! How is that right? In my opinion, It's not really much of a punishment. When they leave they put the area in fear of them striking again.
I know murder isn't right but if someone murdered 3 children and then raped someone (For example) why should they be able to carry on living? They'll go in prison, and then just get out later on because prisons are filling up or whatever. That person does not deserve to live.
