Actually, perfection to humanity, everyone else, this world we are living that is outside the realm of god, is not reachable or achievable as you say BUT I believe perfection to one's self can be obtained with the state of mind.
Don't forget that sometimes you say about a situation " It couldn't be more perfect " you say that because you convinced yourself that it's perfect, it has no harm in it, it's good like that.
So, do something as well as you can and know that it's just perfect the way you did it as long as you have it as perfect in your head then it's perfect enough even if it's only to you and not to anyone else.

Im pretty sure you cant get more perfect than this...
