The vast majority of scientists accept evolution. That doesn't mean that it is necessarily true but, for those of us unacquainted with the evidence in favour of and against evolution, it is probably wise for us to accept the opinion held by the majority of specialists.
As for intolerance, there is almost certainly a genetic aspect to it, as there is to all personality traits. As with personality traits, though, the genes tend to predispose us towards certain behaviours; they tend not to directly cause them. We are for the most part led to become intolerant (or tolerant) through our environment, I believe. Society is just a part of that environment.
Should I tolerate intolerance toward intolerance?
