Some people are NOT meant to have an education. It is the job of the schooling system public or private to provide for those who are meant to have it. And I'm not saying because someone has a learning disability or is just plain stupid. I mean some people aren't mentally in need for an educated. Some people want to be tradesmen. Plumbers, electricians, ect. For those people, it is penalizing

Now, for those of us that want/need an education, school is not penalizing. If you are taking classes and you feel overwhelmed, then drop down a level. You're either lazy, or in fact overwhelmed. Just because you can't sleep through your classes and get straight A's doesn't mean it's unfair. Laziness is not an excuse for underachieving.

They go to vocational school, where they're trained in their specific occupation. they don't have to study greek literature, they don't have to learn calculus, or take world history.

Congratulations? Put the effort in and you would have.

Same applies for your brother.

What the fuck are you trying to say? You learn in a certain subject by actually turning up to school and doing the work in order to know it? How is that unfair? I don't want some dipshit that didn't learn at school and doesn't know what he's doing treating me at a hospital.

I said smart people are more likely to pass. Not all smart people will pass.

Well, according to you, them not learning how to spell wouldn't stop them from being smart.

To be honest with you, I don't really care about the schooling system or most of the stuff I learn in school.
The reason for this is, I don't open a single study book and I still manage to get an A in all subjects. I only open the books at the exam night, I just predict what kind of questions would come out from the teacher of the subject based on the personality and the question he/she asks in class usually, the rest is simple since I have a really good memory.
Most of the stuff I am studying in school won't do me any good later on, I decided on Computer Engineering as my major in college ( then I will take a business degree as well afterwards ) , and computer subjects in Egyptian schools sucks; pretty much just basic stuff that a 3 year old could do, I even know more stuff than the teachers.
For my college I only need to get 1200 in my SAT exam, I got 1670 in my first trial without even opening the SAT except 2 days b4 my 1st trial, mainly because I am somewhat good in English. I know 1670 isn't much but take in consideration that I didn't study at all. Oh yeah! that score is from grade 11 and now I am in grade 12 doing nothing.

Anyway moral of the story, school subjects do me no good as I find them very subjective and lack a lot of information regarding some stuff as well as they do me no good in my choice of college. I prefer to study stuff on my own if I wanna learn about them.

"I read a lot, about business, history.. well pretty much everything."

So, this is why I don't really care about the school, because of my choice in life and the way I want it to be. Also, most of the stuff we learn in school can be found in books or through internet in 2 minutes or less now.

A student once came to Einstein and asked him, can't remember exactly, how many millimeters in a kilometer, Einstein's reply was " I don't know" the student was shocked but Einstein said " Why waste my time on something that I can find in any book?

Advice : Read a lot, yeah work hard for school, don't be like me, but read a lot in different areas of reading, that's the actual knowledge that will lead people to admire you.

SORRY for the long post, but I couldn't sum up my answer or define the point in less =(. =)
