They're* Why? Is that not forcing your child to do something they don't want to? It happens every day, and I don't see you fighting against the oppressive regime of parenting. Are you by any chance a feminist? Well done, you know that what comes from your head is an opinion, congratulations! This is a debate, a debate generally has two or more sides to it, to expect that nobody will disagree with you in a debate is naive to say the least. If you don't like people disagreeing with you, then stay out of a debate.

And why should they not? Everything a parent does will change their child's personality, by that logic and behaviour, by that logic giving a child caffeine is bad, disciplining a child is bad, well, every action the parents do is bad. Is that not 'fully controlling' them? Should I not be allowed to send my child to their room if they misbehave? Should I not be allowed to send my child to bed at an appropriate time, all 'fully controlling'.

I personally will never enter my children for them.

People can do what they want but I disagree with making your toddler enter one. Suppose some kids really do enjoy it and some really are pretty and deserve it...but there's always people that take it a bit far.

It's forcing your children to do something you want them to do isn't it? Which is disgusting according to you?

Ok, so there's no such thing as modelling? There's no help with that? People can choose what they want to do well in, some kids might want to do well in beauty pageants, who are you to say they're wrong?

Right, and how do you know that the parents are forcing them? Also, can you shut up about the forcing them to do something they don't want to do level, I thought we've already established that this is not a bad thing, otherwise kids could just do whatever they wanted and no doubt the vast majority would be fuck ups. Don't pussy foot around, say I don't want to go on a holiday but my parents make me because they've already paid for it, is that wrong? Say my parents take me on a plane and I don't like flying, is that wrong?
Once again. Oh and I love how you can go around and act like Mr. Know-It-All. I don't give two fucks if you disagree with me or not, just don't try going and twisting my words around.

Yes, if you think it's right to go around and tell your child what they can or can't be in life, then that is fine with me boo because it's not my kid. I just don't agree with it. Now, you waking up for school, again, is something that you have to do. Unless, you wanna get expelled or suspended then not be able to go through college and fail at life. Or you can do it the right way, and get up and go to school and learn something. For an example, if you wanted to be a musician and your parent's told you that you had to be a doctor and that's that, how would you feel? You'd just go with that?

Picking a life choice is different from doing something that's out of your hands and most likely, you'll still have to go places with your parent's because maybe they might not think your responsible enough yet to stay home while their gone for a whole while. Yes, I am gonna stand by my opinion just like your standing by yours. So telling me to 'shut up about forcing them to do something' isn't going to shut me up because it's what I think.

Yup, because I totally said picking career choices is bad. Dude, I was just comparing pageants to eating vegetables and going to school. Yeah, they can become a model, if they WANT. Yes, if the children want's to...

look i'm not going to debate with you because im not really into full on debates since we'll never bloody agree. I just normally come in with my share here and leave, or reply to a few questions but this debate would never end. But there's a difference between controlling your kid to make sure they're okay, like getting to bed on time for school, then controlling them to do stupid things they don't even like that just their mom likes, when it's something big like a pageant. But like i said, my opinion. I get you're going to disagree and that's plenty fine, i don't care if you do. Just don't talk to people like your the only right one and they're not. Or fix their grammar or typos, it doesn't make you look very good and people won't want to debate with you, but do whichever you like just small suggestions. And I'm by far not a feminist.

is lunch time now so I gotta be done with this post.

Little white flowers will never awaken you, not when the cold depths have all but overtaken you.

Dearest, The days are all so long,
and in the shadows I spend them all.
My heart and I long for slumber.
Slumber I'm caressing you, I bless your touch, I lust for you.
Slumber you are not a dream, Not as much as you seem.

i think it's a matter of feeling strongly about a subject, not that he feels like he's the only one right. i mean, with any controversial issue, there is going to be a good argument on both sides, and if there was not, then it's not a controversial issue to begin with.

And just because the pageants portrayed on the show aren't similar to what you have experienced, doesn't mean they are any less realistic. Sure, some parts may be scripted or over-done. But what they have done to the kids(Teeth, hair, make-up, stuffing to give the illusion of boobs) are all real, and they're all shown. And it's all disgusting.
okay, sure it's possible, but the real question is how far is too far? i honestly don't think hair, make up, and flippers are over doing it. pageants are just a hobby beyond anything else and people really shouldn't take it that seriously, not the parents, and not any judgmental disputant like yourself either.
