Doesn't matter when it means a three million dollar law suit, at least, to the school it doesn't matter.
I think it's over-board, but you have to understand why they do it.
i have a perfect understanding why they did it: discrimination

well this hits home right now seeing as i recently had a friend pass away from AIDS. it was really sad listening to the things he had to say about it and how he was banned from school, the scrutiny he and his family received because of the social stigma and and negative things associated with AIDS.
it's really sad to see. i wish there was more AIDS awareness so people could be aware of what it really is. AIDS can only be transmitted through blood, semen and vaginal fluids. so what risk is it for this child to attend school? why should he be denied education because of an illness he has?
i honestly think a lot of it is related to lack of knowledge. before i met shiloh, i didn't really know that much about AIDS. maybe if there was more awareness people could understand that just because someone has AIDS doesn't mean they should be treated any different. they're just like everyone else and deserve the same rights.
*and also breast milk
but anyway, nicely put. i think it's because they are uneducated, too and i feel like this decision was based off of logic from 25 years ago. i mean, it was fear. fear because they were simply uneducated.
