Default Christmas Day Tragedy

Quote:
TV CHEF Matt Golinski is fighting for his life after a fire ravaged his home, killing his entire family.

Christmas ended in tragedy for the popular Ready Steady Cook regular when the fire engulfed his Sunshine Coast house about 3.30am.

Mr Golinski's wife, Rachel, and three daughters - Starlia and 12-year-old twins Sage and Willow, who both suffered disabilities - died in the blaze despite his heroic efforts to save them.

After being woken by a terrible explosion, neighbours in Tewantin found Mr Golinski "burned from head to toe" screaming "my family, my family" outside his home...
Full article here.

What an admirable man. He was severely burnt and in intense pain, and all he could think of was his family in the still trapped in the burning building.

A Fire and Rescue unit arrived within 10 minutes after a series of emergency calls, with police arriving soon after.

But questions were raised about the arrival of a lone paramedic 27 minutes after being alerted.
What could have happened for the one paramedic to arrive 27 minutes after being alerted, while a fire and rescue unit arrived 10 minutes after the emergency calls?

The article doesn't specify the reason for the paramedics lateness, so what do we all think?

Also, do you think you'd be able to do such a thing for your family?

So sad.. :( Especially knowing with the disabilities there's a good chance they weren't able to even help themselves.. I feel so bad for that guy.. to loose his wife and three children, his family all at the same time? that's so hard..

Honestly yes, Id give anything to save someone if i could, even if i didn't know them.

Little white flowers will never awaken you, not when the cold depths have all but overtaken you.

Dearest, The days are all so long,
and in the shadows I spend them all.
My heart and I long for slumber.
Slumber I'm caressing you, I bless your touch, I lust for you.
Slumber you are not a dream, Not as much as you seem.

Very Sad indeed. Strange things can happen in situations like these. Too bad nothing more could be done about it.

Aw, I feel so bad for him, Losing all his family like that in just one night. That must be so hard.

I would definitely do anything I could to save someone else, family or not family, 'cause at the end of the day, that person is someone else's family.
