Default Are religious texts sufficient proof of God(s)?

I'm sure at this point most of you know that personal attacks aren't acceptable. These threads are kept a very close eye on. Most of you are incredibly intelligent. Use discretion when posting, I implore you.

Now:

Are religious texts like the Torah, Koran, and Bible sufficient proof of god?

God is given credit for an overwhelming amount of miracles and phenomenon that happen throughout religious texts but does this proove his existence?

Discuss

No. It is written by humans. Humans that could have been delusional.

I don't see how when there are many texts preaching different Gods for one to be proof, surely one has to be wrong for another to be right?

i don't think religious texts prove anything. anyone can write stories and say they're the truth, and that is what i think of them. they're basically just elaborate rule books for the religious followers.

In the eyes of the beholder, mostly.

Different people hold to different evidential bases.

What serves as proof to one, is folly and foolishness to another.

YOU know. look at all the threads that people have been infracted for... Debates mostly, and it's the same few people. I don't want them is this thread.

I'm not trying to be a mod. I'm trying to encourage healthy debate and giving public disapproval of personal attacks. That's not mod work. You shouldn't have to have a green name to say "I'd rather not deal with the trouble makers." I'm not attempting to take action like a mod, you're misunderstanding me.

God is perpetuated by Faith; Christians and Muslims and Bearsohmy will easily tell you that religious text is not proof of God's existence and was never meant to be, as proof would undermine the necessity of Faith to begin with.

Boom, debate won.

God's existence is required in order to have a religious text, so the texts need not make an effort to prove existence of a god? They simply tell a great story and give the credit to their deity in an attempt to make you a believer.

Seems a bit silly to me.

No, the books merely offer the way to live your life and use instances of God to better persuade.
