UK isn't a small countries. Any country can be powerful, but if this country do not contain human power, the dominance and power of that country will not remain. See what happened to Japan after World War 2.

I think population is a very important element in a nation's power.

Hungary has always been bounded to Europe, and that's a power that it will not get alone.

Are you saying Japan isn't a powerful nation? Because from what I can tell they're pretty influential in certain world affairs. Let's not even go into technological contributions in various industries such as the automobile one. Anyway off topic, I don't know much about UK politics but I believe they should be allowed to run their own country independently.

My friend, loads of Japan industries have been moved to China because of the lack of working-hands. China now host a lot of world's most important industries, and embrace world's most distinguished specialists because of the economic state and the cheap working-hands that it can provide.

Personally, I'm okay with an independent Scotland. I have no real reason to be opposed to one. And if the politics in the area are able to make it happen, and the people can handle it - go for it.

The country itself will be small and not much of a player on the international level - at first anyways... it shouldn't prevent them from becoming an independent nation.

Well I'm scottish myself and I voted no. My main reason for voting no is because the Scottish government get their money from the main government to pay for students, pensions etc.. if they split then I'm not sure how they'll handle things. I know the situation for Scottish students will get worse. I don't really wanna debate on the subject, I'm just putting in my opinion.
