I know that the right and proper thing that we want to tell our kids and ourselves to believe that looks don't matter at all, but the sad reality is that they do. A lot.

I understand where the kids are coming from, they expect strangers to be candid and honest and not go out of their way to flatter them, but in reality strangers, even the ones that aren't trolling will be rather harsh with them simply because they're going to assume they're attention whores with big egos who could stand to be knocked down a peg or two. Or they could be predators that pander to their insecurities.

Teens are always going to be insecure about how they look to the world. No matter how much they tell us "you're beautiful on the inside" teens will always worry about their appearance. Because of this teens will continue to find ways to find out what people think about them.

Yay, another thing for those who barely understand the internet to use as a reason to hate the internet.
