If it were money - I'd turn it in to the police. If it's really that much for all I know it could be drug money or whore-cash soooo... I don't want that linking back to me.
If it's nice jewelery - Hell yeah I'm turning it back it! For all I know someone could have robbed a Jewelery store - do you think I want to be caught with that? On the same token it could also be stealing what someone paid for - with their hard earned money and they were probably gonna give it to someone special.
If it's a 20 Dollar Bill on the side-walk... That's not really a big deal, anyone can come in and claim a 20 so turning it in does no good.
If it's some cheap little bracelet - I'd probably keep that because I collect strange trinkets I find on the ground that serve no use.
But I'm not gonna screw someone over just because I'm a selfish bitch - I am a selfish bitch but I have enough class not to screw someone over just because of that - no I usually have a reason for that (like hating them).

If it was alot of money or something expensive I would hand it in..
Seriously, if you lost something that was worth alot or of some importance to you, wouldn;t you want someone to hand it in?

yes but most likely if one of us lost money they wouldnt hand it in
Sometimes doing the right thing can pay-off though.
Maybe the person missing it will come back around and give you a reward for doing the right thing - seeing as how so many don't do the right thing anymore, it's nice to see those kinds of people.

i found a mobile phine once by the bank it was a really expensive one. i keot it for 3 days and it played on my mind so much. i though what if someone needs the person who the phone belongs to in an emergancy , and the mobile is the only way to contact them. so i looked through the numbers and phoned one called home. it turned out to be the lady who had lost the phone i told her were i lived and she came and got it . she also gave me £20 for returning it. i know if id have kept it i would not have felt right , i felt so good for returning it too.
as for ppl saying they would hand it in being liars well i can honestly say at least they wont get caught spending other ppls money. its been known for the police to put a trap to catch ppl out , at least i wont be one of them.

That reminds me! I once found a cell phone by my sisters school, wasn't that great or anything, but I found it. Well, I figured if we just turned it into the office - the owner may just assume someone took it. So I just called "Mom Cell" and it was ringing but then this girl ran up and said she had dropped her Cell Phone. I told her I was calling her moms cell and she said "OK, thank you." and then ran back off to the car.
I heard her talking to her mom about it - she said "that girl is the one who called your phone - she said she was gonna call you to let you know it was in the office." And that's what I was going to do too.
I wasn't expecting anything for giving the phone back - she may have dropped it - But I'm no thief.
