I'm sure she'll love it and relax being able to kinda have a date night with her oldest son Then maybe you can see her in more of a normal not stressed situation and see she does love and adore you and you're not a burden.

Little white flowers will never awaken you, not when the cold depths have all but overtaken you.

Dearest, The days are all so long,
and in the shadows I spend them all.
My heart and I long for slumber.
Slumber I'm caressing you, I bless your touch, I lust for you.
Slumber you are not a dream, Not as much as you seem.

Thx for the advice Distress, I'll take it to heart and make sure to relax while I'm around her.

Sounds good. She's definitely lucky to have a son like you. (:

Icon12 Re: Am I a burden?

So yesterday i got the chance to take her to diner. I was relaxed and calm and so was she. We ended up eating rather cheap food, but it didn't seem to matter. We talked about a lot of things and, oddly enough we never even mentioned the problem at hand. We just chatted until we were done eating. On the drive back, she started about how i was in no way a burden to her and that she appreciates me trying to help her, but that it's not my job to worry about it. She said that she gives everything she has to us and that my comments and attitude towards her actions made her feel out place and pushed away by me. She told me that 'I wasn't her husband' and that i was still a kid and didn't need to try to take care of her. When we actually pulled up infront of our drive way, she stopped the car and locked the doors. And we talked about everything there was to talk about. We ended up talking for two hours straight. We were both crying alot when we came through the door. Everyone was like "whatever happened to you guys?". We gave them that "it's a long story" look and hugged before i went to sleep.

Anyways, i feel so much better now and i just want to thank you for your advice. That night never would have happened without you distress.

Awww, You're welcome. I'm so glad it went well.
Your mom sounds like an exceptional woman.
And you're a very smart and caring young man!

At different points in everybody's life they are a burden on others. And at other times they will have others be a burden on them. it's called life. We are all one big basketball team that on some days we are the star and other days we hold the stars jock strap and bring them water. The roles always change. But to friends and family even though the drama we can make is a burden, we are not REAL burdens and we are always worth the drama. My advice is to talk to your mom and tell her exactly how you feel. Its always hard to start those conversations but always feel better once you did.

Also may I ask why you might get dropped by your basketball team??
