if your step dad is hitting you, you shouldnt be subjected to that. If you wanted to move back with your mum, thats great but not if your step dad is a danger to you or your mum.
In which case it would be better to choose your cousins.
But i dont know the extent of the hitting, is it like just a little tap, and is it something that if you asked him to stop he would? these are all things to consider.

changing your diet drastically usually doesn't help anyone
and it seems that your friends are considered,
If your step dad is being abusive to you, my opinion is that you let you mum know
if she knows maybe she can help you or even stop him
If it turns out that nothing happens
i think you should probably just tell your mum straight and tell her
either he gets sorted out or im leaving
but honestly i think it won't go that far
and the worse case scenario should be to move out

But make sure you look after yourself and be yourself regardless of whatever people tell you
