My dad one day told me to grow up. He meant that by telling me I should wear makeup, and perfume, and all this girly teen stuff. I am not ready for all of that stuff. I still have my inner child where I am always crazy, and having to do fun things all of the time. I don't want to wear make up and jewelry. I want to take my time and don't want to be told to grow up. But my dad says I should hurry up and act my age. Do you think he is wrong to tell me to hurry up and grow up? Or do you think he is right
I think you should most definitely act your age. Maybe not on the appearance stuff, but you shouldn't act like a little kid. You can still have fun and act you age at the same time.
Well it depends on how you act too, it's perfectly fine for him to want his child to act mature and they're age and that. And Dad's sometimes want their girls to look like famine. My dad complains sometimes I don't wear pink, or be more girly. But then again, he hates make up and didn't let me wear it till almost 16. Which was a good thing, and a bad thing.

Really it depends on how you act. Right now it appears to me that you're being a bit immature. Eventually there will come a time when you HAVE to grow up. Appearance, personality, and everything that comes with the two. If you plan on having a professional job, and be taken seriously then you're going to need to dress appropriately and act appropriately.
Your father loves you, and he wants you to grow up and be successful. Prehaps he's just a bit alarmed. He loves you, and I'm positive that he doesn't want to annoy you, but he DOES want to make you a better person.

Note: - At this period, I only have internet access on my phone, and IM doesn't work on my phone, so when any of you guys send me a message, I can see that I recieved messages on TF IM but I can't read or respond to them.
It's your life, you should be able to dress how you want, however while it is fine to act immature around friends, there are times when you should act your age. Some people mature quicker than others, you will eventually, until then your dad will just have to deal with it.
