Anyway, yes you do have to work on that side of you. Not being able to link yourself to others can keep you safe, sure, but don't you ever feel lonely? Imagine yourself when you're older...

It's normal you build walls around you, everyone does it in a way. But, one is never 100% 'safe', so you might as well work on lowering your guard a bit. Sure, it's really hard to cope with pain if someone disappoints you or hurts you. But. We learn so little from peace, don't we? Most of the time, it's with our painful scars that we are able to grow. Happiness? We have no scars to show for happiness.

As for that girl, it's obvious she already noticed the difference. So, the best thing you can do is explain her this issue, if you don't want her getting off. If you ever consider to be in a relationship with her, well, you'll have to trust her, yes? It's what love is about afterall, mutual trust. If she's a decent one, she won't use that information against you. In the contrary, she'll probably want to help you. Hopefully, she'll introduce you to other people she knows. Just let it flow and try to communicate more, it's the only way you can make progress.

I am totally like you, and I rely heavily on texting to convey my feelings.
I think its ok to not be the most social person on earth but it is a problem if you are interested in being someones friend and dont know how to go about doing it.

As for me, i also have difficulty making offline friends
But mine is more "picky" oriented.

Because of a personal problem (aka, some screws loose in my head), it's hard to make contact with others and thus make friends.
And when i finally have them, i get bored of them and get rid of them.

But meh, i'm a gamer, online friends are my real friends!
