Hey guys, my cousin Ami is 17.

She finished high school last year and got accepted to University for health sciences. But she decided not to go to University right away and she wanted to take some time off and pursue modeling and everyone thought it was a great idea.

So she got hired by some underground modeling agency and she was making SHITLOADS of money at first! She bought a new car and she was always wearing nice clothes and stuff!

I heard that over time she was doing less photoshoots and stuff and she had to get another job at Claire's.

So she called me this morning and she was crying like CRAZY and told me to come to this banquet hall where she is doing fashion show right now. So I rushed over there and she was back stage in a dressing room. She was wearing this really tight blue dress and SUPER high heels, and she had on a TON of makeup. She was crying and her makeup was all ruined, she said that she just got fired by her manager!

Apparently her manager was making a TON of money off of her at first but now not so much, so he gave her less gigs then fired her. She said this is her last fashion show and shes getting paid 500$ for it.

I told her that she can find another modeling job and she still has the job at Claire's and she can go to University in September! But she wasn't listening to me and she kept crying then she took out a cigarette and started smoking it! I had NO idea she smokes!

She was smoking and I was SHOCKED because I never imagined she smokes! Then she burnt herself with the cigarette (on purpose, she just pressed it down on her arm and it left a black mark). She was still crying like crazy and she went out onto the runway.

I was watching her from back stage, she was trying too hard to do a good performance. She was moving her body too much and moving too fast, and she kept trying to whip her hair around.

Then she fell and when she fell she screamed REALLY loud and grabbed this other girl so she wouldn't fall, but the other girl fell on top of her and they both fell.

I was waiting for her when the show was over but I didnt find her.

Then I went in the parking lot and she was there and she was on her phone and she was smoking. I was walking towards her but then the bus came and she got on the bus.

The bus she goes on goes to the subway station, I have no idea why she was going there! Its so far from her house!

I called her mom and asked where Ami is, and she said a 'sleepover'.

WHAT DO I DO!?

If you really are concerned about her health, tell your mom or her mom and see what they can do to help you find her. However, I think that she should be fine in a day or two. It just sounds like she was still shocked that she got fired and she probably wasn't thinking much about what to do next, nor was she thinking logically. I would wait a day or two and see if you can find her then. Try and talk to her about the whole thing in a few days. She might be a lot better by then. If you can't find her in a few days, then you have to tell an adult that can help find her and make sure she's okay. But I would give her a few days. She'll probably be just fine.

She probably went some place to cool off and smoked to relieve her of the stress. I don't think you should be too worried unless she continues this behavior.

Am not really sure what to say there.. because if you tell her mother and then later on you find out that she is just letting off some steam, it will stress her out even more because she might need space. but then again she might harm herself if you don't tell anyone.

She was acting rashly out of sadness and panic, if she is smart enough to get into University then she is smart enough to realize that the world is not over. She was in emotional ruin after getting fired. If this type of behavior persists after a long amount of time, then I would consider telling her mother, if you haven't already.

Well, if I were you I would talk to her parents.
I know it sounds like you are ratting her out, but it could save a lot of people grief by doing so.
Obviously her relationship with the agent is screwed up and since she is only 17, the parent should know about this.

About her smoking and self harming though, I may withhold on that for now until she cools down.
Handling a professional career at 17 is tough and stressful. Maybe quitting modeling or finding a better agent can take away her stress and she may stop that kind of behavior…

But this is a tough one….
I hope she is alright.
