I had a best friend for nine years and we were joined at the hip. When I was younger I was too easy to walk all over. I mean, I'm rather docile now but I can defend myself but then I was useless, I just let people treat me badly because I felt they were allowed to because they were somehow better than me.
I've never actually told anyone about everything that happened and I don't think I ever will because it still hurts me a lot. I see her a lot but we don't speak any more obviously, she acts like it never happened.
She used to black mail me all the time. I'd get things for her, give her my lunch if she wanted it or forgot hers, own up to talking when it was her making the noise. Little things I kept telling myself. She openly talked about how "no offence but you're the ugliest in the class" or how pretty she was compared to me. I believed every word she said and I pretty much blame her for ruining my self esteem.
If she got into fights she'd drag me into them and if she lost something I'd somehow have to get her a new one. If I beat her in a game she never spoke to me for the whole day or if I got praised by a teacher she said it was pathetic. When she was praised she acted like I was stupid. The once the teacher told me my painting was the best in the class and showed everyone, bearing in mind we were about 9 or 10 so none of them would have been great. She accidentally spilt water on it. Maybe I'll post more later.
Long story short, that's not the worst of it, I was blackmailed constantly and beaten down and glad to be rid of her.
