Default I can't let the "win-free-tour" to LONDON slip away!

Last night, my parents told me to pack my things up because we will be migrating to New York by the end of the month. My older sister got an email yesterday from Culinary Institute of America informing her that she is accepted. So, she will be studying there and thus, we need to move out of the country and probably live in NY for good. My parents won’t let my sister live alone in America and that means leaving my life here and so as my upcoming international swimming competition. It will be a month from now and I can’t just let it slip away. If I will be able to get the first place, I will be given a chance to win free tour in London. I repeat, it’s in LONDON. It’s a dream come true for me. How can I just throw it away? I talked to my dad regarding it, but he won’t just listen to me. I even pleaded to migrate after the said competition but he won’t agree. This is killing me inside! What should I do now? How can I convince my dad? I need to be there; I have to!

I guess it's very painful you miss that chance. Ask your coach to talk with your dad about it. It can maybe work.

I cross fingers. He can maybe use his leverage.

According to your OP above, this resettlement of the whole family to a completely different country seems a bit of a overhasty decision to me.

bud good luck.
