my sister and her friends love watching The Bachelorette. we have a TiVo and she records it so that they can watch it after school. i've seen parts of it and i can't believe it is real. seem so fake or something having a bunch of guys chasing one girl as if she is the last girl on the planet and if they don't get her, they will never ever get married and the rest of their life will be ruined. and its not like these guys are ugly and stupid, they all look like and act like are movie stars that my sister and her friend want to marry someday.

I think it's borderlining really.
I think they are trying to get her and I think the girl really is trying to find the right guy.

The show just sets up things so that the "cast" can get to know each other or something like that.

It takes place over a long period of time after all. So these guys could very well be romantically interested in the girl.

Now it's unlikely that all the guys would so the ones who really don't probably get paid to cause drama at some point.

Either way, I think it's stupid. Though I kinda would like to get on The Bachelorette just to see which guys had the balls to stick around. You know, just for kicks.

well my sister (she's 11) and most of her friends just love the show and think is 100% real. they watched last night show this afternoon and a couple got really mad when they left that one guy alone on the mountain as they flew away in the helicopter. i said they didn't really leave him there, but my sister and her friends really beleive she left him stranded on top of some mountian in iceland or where ever it was.

I highly doubt they left him there. I don't watch the bachelorette or the bachelor. There are other reality shows I watch, and I believe that for the most part, it is real. However, I think there are some things that the producers stage. Like if there's a big fight on one of these dating shows, like fists and all that, that's probably staged.

I love to watch some of these shows, but I wouldn't dare go on one.

They don't just look and act like movie stars. They ARE movie stars following the script given to them.

For whoever who wants to produce any kind of reality program, it's outright stupid to just put the camera there, and wait for something interesting to happen. So instead, they sign the participants on contracts which force them to tell nothing about what's going on the set, and then the entire TV show is written and directed like any show.

Except for the Big Brother, where a vast amount of raw material is concentrated into a few weekly hours of prime time.
