Basically I have a little group together and we are planning to make small movies involving teenage things/problems. Well basically the first is about being repsonsible on a bicycle on the streets. It can also be a message to drivers to look for bikes.

Anyways ill skip to the bit I need help with. Im going to put a camera on the person riding the bike to get a shot giving the cyclists eye veiw. Basically he is going to be run down by a car. Im not sure how to make this look real and effective. I was thinking of seeing the car then hear a horn and stop the camera. Then a short black pasue for effectiveness. Then in fades in with a breath from the biker on the floor. The camera will be on the floor facing the biker. The images then fades out when the biker breathes out. Bascially it will continue from there.

I just need help with the car crashing into the bike. Anyother suggestions would be great.

I like your idea, its better than anything I could come up with. The blackness for effect should be enough I think, maybe screeching and such when its black and a banging sort of noise for the impact. Perhaps the sound of an ambulance too would work well with it.

Your idea is great! What I've found is that sometimes less is more, esp. when it comes to things that are typically emotional, and typically very predictable..like a car slamming into bicyclist. So, what you might want to do is make it very clear what is about to happen....a pic of the biker, a pic of the car, panning btw'n the two (so the audience gets it), and then.......maybe nothing. Black? slow mo of the biker falling to the ground, maybe the image he was seeing going sideways and falling slowly to the ground? Silence?

Thanks. I was thinking of little effects. Like the car door slamming, screaming, someone talking to a operator (999).

But im not sure how far to go? End it there or carry it on?

Yeah Spock that sounds good too. Im going to film it a few times and set up a few cameras so i can get just the right veiw.

I was also thinking of dramtic music to really add to the effect.

I think the minimalistic approach is best here myself, less is sometimes more with these kinds of things.

Fool around with it and see what works best. I made a vid once and had all the *regular* noises in the background to focus the audience attention on it, and the normalcy of it...until...*BANG!*....then it was silent and all slo mo imagery, it was veeeery effective.

I'd be happy to look at the vid and give you my .$02, FWIW....
