Re: Biggest Loser
I gained a bunch of weight(well not relative to those folks...lolz) in the summer/spring of my Sr. yr bc I was sooo used to playing a lot of sports and just eating whatever I wanted/huge portions and didnt adjust my lifestyle to post FB/wrestling life. I went on BB.com and learned a ton and lost ~30-35(im a really big guy to begin with so I wasnt like obese) in ~5/6 mos.
That show is a complete waste and worse yet it gives people unrealistic goals which cause UNHEALTHY habits/strategies. Most people after an explosive week or 22 of weightloss SHOULD ONLY LOOK TO LOSE 1/2 LBs of fat per week. This is bc a larger caloric deficit will lead to a tonne of lean mass(eerr muscle) being lost with the fat. While losing muscle might not be scary to some(women especially) the problem is that the muscle uses calories just to exist and allow you to eat more...and not gain fat. Without the lean mass your metabolism slows and you can eat less and less while dieting.
Cliffs: THE SHOW IS CRAP.
