The '82 version isn't bad but I prefer the original made in '51 (often called The Thing but the original title is The Thing from Another World).

Shout, Shout, Let it all Out, These are the Things I Can do Without
You Shouldn't Have to Jump for Joy, You Shouldn't Have to Shout for Joy

They Give You Life and in Return You Gave 'em Hell
As Cold as Ice - No Bitch, You're Ice Ice Baby
I Hope We Live to Tell the Tale, I Hope We Live to Shout the Tale
Will You Never Shout? And When You've Taken Down Your Guard...

Come On Let Me Shout Shout Let Me,
Come On Let Me Shout Shout!

Originals are always better than remakes/sequels, but the 1982 version I must admit was much more enjoyable than the '51 film, mostly because the remake is a more faithful adaption to the novella "Who Goes There?" by Don A. Stuart (John W. Campbell, Jr.).

There is news that a prequel is in the works, however I have VERY little faith in it's success, seeing how much CGI we depend on in modern film-making.

The originals are timeless.
