Such a great film. So much meaning and it is amazing how one guy can save so many lives, yeah maybe not so much in comparison to how many the Nazi's did kill in general, but the fact he managed to save 1,100 Jews, and today there is over 6,000 decendants of those 1,100.. is staggering.
Lol I think that's a bit of a stretch. It does have some minor problems here and there.
Anyways, It is a great movie. I love the black and white cinematography. I'm so glad it wasn't done in color. Great use of the mis en scene and so on. Definitely the film that proves that Spielberg is a very versatile director.
I must say that I prefer The Pianist over Schindler's list when it comes to movies about the Holocaust.

Probably was a stretch - i've never watched the Pianist although from my research on the holocaust, is it anything to do with the girl Goeth was going to execute, but heard her playing Chopin on the piano or something on her arrival at eithe Plaszow or Auschwitz and decided against doing so?

No it was actually based on the memoirs of Wladyslaw Szpilman who survived the Holocaust by hiding from the Nazis with the help of a few of his non jewish polish friends. Although, I guess It's unfair to compare it to Schindler's list because it is a completely different focus. Yet it's still a very powerful movie. But Polanski (the director) actually lived through the Holocaust and I think his mother was killed in either a concentration camp or in the ghetto. So I can't help but think that some of what he put in that movie was a reflection on his own experiences during the War.
