I think The Empire Strikes back is by far the superior film of the six. It had a dark tone, the story was more involving, the characters were allowed to develop and actually have a character arc, the special effects were more mature than the first (and just as good as the Return of the Jedi), It didn't allow itself to show the audience what it wanted to see. Overall, it just was a better movie than all the other 5 movies.
