Metropolis - 2010 Kino Restoration
As some of you probably know, Metropolis is a 1927 film directed by Fritz Lang. It's considered one of the best movies ever and all that jazz. But It was also mostly lost in its entirety when American studios chopped up the finishing product to a point that half of the movie was lost. More than half of the footage was destroyed. Until, almost all of the 17 original reels were found in Argentina in 2008, in poor condition that is. Kino spearheaded a restoration and produced a copy with the original score and all the lost scenes edited back in.
So my question is, Has anyone seen this new restoration? Is it worth seeing again? Or did the new effort not produce anything worthwhile?
