Icon2 Difference Between Fullmetal Alchemist and Brotherhood

Ok, I was hoping to get the second season of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood for Christmas and I ended up coming up with this thread about the differences between Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.
1st of all, I would like to establish that the orginal anime series was very dull compared to Brotherhood. Many people I've heard from have said that the main difference between them was that the original wasn't even really based off the manga. The series strayed from the idea of Ed and Al finding the Philoserpher's stone and was built mainly upon bits and pieces of what could be called fillers to form the series.
The Ending- it was crap! Apparently from what i've heard and seen, Ed ended up giving up his body for Al's. Then Ed disappears. (spoiler warning here, read next paragraph) at the end of Brotherhood, Ed trades in his ablility to create Alchemy and the gets Al's body back.
Also, in Ed and Al seemed to be al little more childish in the original series. In Brotherhood, Ed and Al were more serious. Al acted more mature and past the years of 10, despite his young voice. In the original, Ed and Al seemed to act more shot-sighted and child-like.
If you would like to put more things in, feel free. Oh, and if you know where I can get the whole second season of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, please tell me! i was really hoping to find it! Thanks.

I loved both series. I saw the original first, and the movie right after. Sure, it wasn't top of the class per say, but it sure got me excited about FullMetal Alchemist as a whole. Brotherhood blew me away. That was really the best, perhaps the best anime I ever saw.

I'm waiting for the movie to be released!

Also, here's a link, but it's for the Dubs.

I believe the difference is tht brotherhood more closely follows the manga. I could be wrong, though.

So did I. I think almost anyone who watches Brotherhood after the first series prefers it. It's not just because it's longer and has a better underlying story and theme. The way they tied up the events of the first series felt rushed at times. Also, the new characters make sense in the universe and helps give us a better understanding of everything.

Also, the movie which was supposed to tie up the first series once and for all wasn't satisfactory. It too felt rushed.

I love all the episodes though. FullMetal Alchemist is the Shizz. Can't wait for the new movie to come out, I'm inching to grab a Blu_ray.
