Re: The Hunger Games
I have two comments about the trailer:
"So is this the prequel to The Running Man? Is Arnold gonna be in it?!"
"I think I read that book before... it was called Battle Royale, why'd they'd change the title?"
Okay the second comment was a low-blow but I can't help but make comparisons. But, hey, critics already did that! It's pretty much the exact same book and all. Pretty much. Battle Royale is a bit more gritty in comparison and was stuck in developmental hell when an American release was being planned. Because at that time there was that whole Columbine thing.
But hey, looks like watching a bunch of kids and teenagers kill each other is okay again!
That being said, I'm probably to go and see it despite my sarcastic attitude about it. I'm not overly excited or anything, I don't know much of anything about the books other than it's like Battle Royale in respects to the whole teenagers/children being forced to compete in kill in a government-sanctioned television program thing. Or something like that.
However, if it's going to have any bit of violence in it... then I'm in. What's it rated? If it's not PG-13, I'll be disappointed!
Jokes and sarcasm aside, I'll probably see it. Looks like it could be interesting. But I'm concerned on one point. Maybe I'm mistaken or confused about this point but doesn't it have romance in it?
