Yes, that classifies as Anime!
Gosh, just because it's older doesn't mean it's not Anime! XD
Even the old old Speed Racer cartoons is an Anime! Hell, my DAD grew up watching those!
And actually I think the FUNimation Channel hasn't been around that long.
But Anime, originally, was based off Disney cartoons (Betty... Anybody?) and then after a long while American cartoons were based off Anime (Teen Titans, Avatar - to name recent ones).
But as I was saying, the FUNimation channel only shows DUBBED Anime, not SUBBED, I believe. And it only shows the Anime released by FUNimation... So all I would ever watch is
Fruits Basket and
Black Cat... And something else, but I forget.
However, you can find Anime anywhere now-a-days! On the Net mostly - EBay ships to just about anywhere, and you can get free downloads of somethings (torrents mostly), OR you can just pay for the SUBBED versions like my cousin did for me~ She bought them for me over a sight and it has a lot of Anime... It's kick-ass.

Anime - "Japanese Animation" although the word
anime is actually French and it means "Animation".
There are many many types of Anime, genre's in other words. Romance, comedy, horror, sci-fi, Yaoi*, Yuri**, Action/Adventure, Mecha, Hentai***, Ecchi****, drama, thriller, etc... Not to mention combos! Combos of genres are just the best~
1* - Yaoi - Slash, M/M, or MalexMale - It's basically Hardcore Gay Romance (for lack of a better way to put it) - typically drawn by Females and written by Female Teenagers with too much time on their hands! The softcore version is called "Shounen-ai".
2* - Yuri - Fem-Slash, F/F, or FemalexFemale - Pretty much Hardcore Lesbian Romance - Not that much it is out there, ironically, but in Fanfiction it can either be written by Males or Females who have nothing better to do. The softcore version is called "Shoujo-ai".
3* - Hentai - Uhhh... Porn. That pretty much sums it up. Usually has a lot of Sexual content in it, but it is not to be confused with Ecchi, seeing as how Hentai gets dirty.
4* - Softcore Porn - Upskirting, innuendos, pervertedness everywhere you go, sometimes they'll show
things, but it does not happen often in Ecchi - actual intercourse is not shown in Ecchi unlike in Hentai, it may be mentioned but not shown.
