A gourmand is a person who takes great pleasure in food. The word has different connotations from the similar word gourmet, which emphasises an individual with a highly refined discerning palate, but in practice the two terms are closely linked, as both imply the enjoyment of good food.
An older usage of the word is to describe a person given to excess in the consumption of food and drink, synonymous with "glutton."
I am, I love love love food~ I love eating food so much you may even consider me a glutton.
I look for any excuse to eat good food as well. To put it in terms people will understand better, I love food and eating food about as much as normal people love sex. Make sense now?
And, ah, if only I knew how to cook. Then I'd eat even more than I do now.
I enjoy all sorts of food, from the simplest to the most complex.
So, anyone else love to eat?

First « Gourmet» is someone who know a lot about food, wine and stuff like this. A Chef a guess.
«Goumand» is someone who eat a lot and love to eat,, even if he is not really hungry. And not nesseceraly someone who likes to eat well. Actually, we often use this word for someone who love deserts and such things. Sugary stuff.

I'm gourmand.
Oh, splitting hairs here, but if a 'gourmand' is someone who's just a glutton, someone who compulsively eats with irregard to what they're actually putting into themselves, if the only qualification is 'sweet', then I am most def not a gourmand.
I think it's the French word, anything in French always sounds so desirable.
Okay, well Jems said pretty much what I was going to say... so yeah...
Glutton, Gourmand, whatever you wanna call it. I am one. I just find Gourmand to be a less insulting way of saying it as Glutton have negative meanings to it.
