Default Home Made Bread?

Wanting to make some bread from scratch tomorrow, I've got the yeast and everything just need a recipe.

For pans all I've got is a small loaf pan my grandparents loaned me, so if needed what would be the best way to freeze the bread just baggie it and put in freezer?

Any help appreciated

If I were you I would ask your grandparents for their recipe if they have one as I am sure it will work perfectly everytime. If mine were here still I would certainly be asking them for theirs myself.

All of the ones I have followed online havent turned out too well, this is the one I had most success with but it wasnt perfect, it could just be me though:

Ive noticed something when making my own bread, it just never tastes like the shops bread, not even in the slightest, the crust is always seemingly too crusty, the inners dont seem as soft as they should be or theyre too stodgy but I am not such a great cook

If youre needing to freeze it I would let it cool first and then put it in a bag in the freezer, whether it be a proper bag for food or a clean carrier bag if you dont have any.

Good luck

On the freezing part a correction, was gonna freeze the doe not the bread

As for the recipe I'll start with one and make changes come each trial

And yes, home made always beats major brands; home made (espically family recipes) take bride and a hands on approach not a machine approach cranking out a years hand made worth in five minutes

Ive just done some reading on freezing the dough and all I got from it was that its best to leave it in the fridge over night before the day youre going to cook it to thaw and so that it can rise again, I am not sure whether thats been proved already or not though. I would wrap it in the same things myself, cooked or not but I have read that its good to allow them to freeze on a cookie sheet first and then bag them up once frozen.

I am yet to try very good tasting home made bread myself, I could try and make some now but I would probably mess it up again even with a different recipe

She uses a cookbook but it's still lovely none the less, I'll take a look through the books later on, there's about 12/13 books to look through, I'll post some of the best ones I can find.
