Every time I try to make cookies or brownies I ALWAYS mess them up or burn it completely. Can any one tell me how I can make cookies without burning them or make brownies without making them look disgusting?? Thanks even though this may be a weird topic I still want to know!

Sorry to state the obvious... but have you tried a shorter amount of time for baking them? Either that or switch recipes.

Some people are just bad cooks. I'm one of them, so no offense!

When preheating your oven, leave it on 180 degrees (preheat for 15mins), when the cookies go in then put it down to 120 degrees and leave them in for 10mins. Shouldn't burn then.

Also it's not my recipe, that's another Amy.

Yea one I literally sat in front of the oven and watched the cookies bake. when I took them out the were really soft. But,They still turned out to be as hard as rocks after 2 minutes. They are supposed to be the chewy ones. I was upset. lol

My dad's trick is to take them out about two minutes earlier than the recipe says. Even though they look under cooked at first they always turn out perfect.

When you bake, it actually depends on what type of dough it is as in how to not burn it. When you bake cookies or biscuits, the dough should be oily enough to not get burned, so maybe you are just missing something in the ingredients, or just mismeasuring amounts of oil or ghee, and when baking cakes or brownies, you should wipe the bottom and the sides of whatever thing you're putting them into with butter so they don't get burned from the bottom and the sides.
Try to control the heat of the oven, and not to distract yourself with some TV show or something while they are in the oven.

Keep an eye on them

All ovens work differently so a recipe will say a certain time and temp but some times that doesn't work for you

I used to put something in the oven then walk away untill the timer goes of and the would be burnt
