Hey Teen Forumzorz!
I was born and raised in Hawaii for pretty much my entire childhood and teenage life. We have some of the best food there, and coincidentally some of the worst food for you.
I am just wondering how many of you are from Hawaii, or have been there.
(or at least who have been to a "Hawaiian" restaurant)
Here's a few delicious meals from my home state.
Loco Moco:
A loco moco is basically rice smothered with gravy, topped with eggs, and beef patties. (as you can see) It's quite an amazing treat, and easily one of the best-tasting/unhealthiest foods you can get in Hawaii.
Spam Musubi:
Easily the most popular treat/snack in Hawaii, people eat one of these in seconds! (or so it seems)
It's basically the equivalent of "spam sushi." But before you go "Ewwww gross", just try it one day. The trick is to fry the spam in teriyaki sauce and brown sugar, which makes it taste amazing. Some people also add egg under the spam. I used to sell these in school for anywhere from $1 to $2, and I'd always sell out within minutes.
Manapua:
It's basically a "steamed pork bun." It's often a white bun, containing char siu in the middle. (barbecued meat) It's an amazing treat as well, and something I miss from Hawaii.
Anyway, those are just three amazing foods from Hawaii.
Sadly, it's not that easy to find food like that here in OR.
There's gotta be some Hawaiian restaurants around though!
