Default Why do popular students in school pick on me? :(

I'm not a popular student and I have never picked on or done anything bad to these people ever. They harass me and think I am an easy target, which makes them believe that it is okay to be mean to me. Sometimes I want to slap them across their ugly faces and knock their teeth out like bowling pins...
WHY ARE THEY LIKE THIS?? Dx

And I know that these people are never serious and drink and always party... They can't handle life's responsibilities...

As the great going says bullies bully because they have their own insecurities. You have to tell someone about this or it could get out of hand. Try not to let it bother you and don't retaliate, it'll make matters a lot worse.

Kids will bully you if you let them. You need to fight back, with the logic of "an eye for an eye" (except for physical contact, do NOT touch them). If they say something nasty about you, you say something nasty back (but make it sound intelligent and creative, it's lame to copy what they say, and that'll only make the situation worse). They will leave you alone quickly. Kids like to pick on others who are "weak", and don't fight back. They can get away with it. They also get enjoyment out of seeing your reaction.

As Luke said, another option would be to try to just ignore them, but I assume you have already tried this. If you haven't, attempt this. If this fails, go for the "eye for an eye" method, but still keep your cool. Don't do anything that isn't in direct retaliation towards what they say. Don't instigate fights, let them instigate them on you.

Finally, if all else fails, you can always report students to your administration. If they're harassing you, and if your school gives half a crap about its students, they will intervene in this situation. Just talk to a teacher or other faculty member. If you get the school administration involved, don't even think about approaching the other students. Do this as a later resort though, it's good to learn how to solve problems, and fight your battles, on your own.

Hope this helps,
New Ev

There are a lot of bullies everywhere in this world, not only in school. The trick is not to give them the attention they actually don't deserve. The more you show them you're upset, the more they'll persist and find it fun. If you just ignore them, they will eventually stop picking on you.
I hope it does get better for you though, no one deserves to be treated like that.

Don't know why these clowns are popular at your school, they sound lame as hell.

Stick close to your friends, the "safety in numbers" thing. Then do like New Ev said, give as good as you get, if they don't back the fuck off, bring the school staff down on their dumb asses.

Because kids are mean, and thats that. Just ignore them, as difficult as it seems. Unless they hit you. Then hit them.

It's human nature, really. When humans feel secure of their power and influence, they will often abuse it. They feel as if they're at the top of the social food chain, and so they push others around to reassert their dominance.

So basically, show them you're not even in this food chain, and thus that they are not above or below you, and they should stop. Some won't give it up without a fight, though. But it's part of human psychology. If a human does something, and they either get no results, or no desired results, they'll generally stop. Find out what it is that they get out of insulting you, and stop letting them get it.

That's quite presumptuous. You don't know any of these people any more than they know you. I'm not saying that justifies their actions, but if you look closely, you'll find there's a good number of these guys that are not actually into harassing others not in their group, and will either avoid it, or do it in a very half-hearted way.

Believe me, I know how you feel. My freshman year was pretty much the pique of this phase of misanthropy I went through. I was picked on by pretty much everyone, and had pretty much no friends. I remember contemplating the murders of the people who picked on me. But it's not always that they're bad people. The pack instinct creates a bit of hostility to those outside the group, and many people in the group only feed the hostility by going along with it, and actually don't initiate it.

There was this one guy who I had assumed was just an asshole, and an idiot like I assumed all the popular people were, but when I had a class with him later on I found out he was pretty nice. He'd converse with me, even though others he was friends with made fun of me. He had said hello to me a few times outside class, too. Just wait, you may find out a lot of these people are better than you think, and they might even find out the same thing about themselves.

These days, I don't think there's anyone I hate. Compare the amount of thinking one does in a day with the amount of speaking they do with you. There are lots of thoughts they have that you will never know about. And that's what makes it hard for me to hate people. A manager at work gave me a sarcastic response when I asked her a stupid question, and my first thought was "wow, she's a bitch," but then I thought "wait a minute, I'm basing that on a few words she said to me. That's not nearly enough information to prove she's a bitch. So why should I think she's one?"
