So I absolutely adore body modifications; I've been tattooed 4 times, my ears are practically butchered with steel, and my lip and eyebrow are pierced. Next is cosmetic branding, and I have the consultation with Blair, the branding artists, in 2 weeks.

What do you guys think about body modifications? Love it? Hate it? Anything you have? or want?

Ew on so many levels.
Why cover your body with disgusting things? I don't see the point in changing what's already perfect.

erm piercing and little tattoos ye, i've got 7 piercings and can't wait to get tattoos ... but nothing else ew.

Because some of us don't view it as perfect, some of us see the body as a blank canvas to be improved. I happen to be one of those people.

It's impossible to improve on what is perfect, you can only ruin it.
I don't see the point in covering up natural beauty. You were born that way, anything else is disgusting.

The body itself is a work of pure and natural art. Destroying it just takes out one less beautiful thing in this world.

Out of curiosity, do you consider self-harm and severe obesity 'destroying' ones body in a sense that it removes the "beauty"?

Self harm, yes. Obesity depends on the circumstances really. With that I'm torn on really. Perhaps because it isn't marring the skin. So it depends.

Why?

Both alter the form of ones body outside of what nature intended it to be.
