Default Going blonde.

Okay I have a problem. I have been through a few colors, was born blonde and went dark brown though but i've been black, red and even tried a kind of blueberry colour (which SO didn't turn out)

So now I've tried this platinum blonde dye and my hair is STILL ginger.

The color of my hair is in my DP as the pix was only took 5 days ago.

Mind you, this is the first time I've attempted it myself and struggled like hell to try and 'even' it through my hair so just kinda... used it like shampoo instead.

I've used the swartzcoff XXL dye because i trust that because the red goes right funky !!

I'm thinking the peroxide wasn't strong enough, but it was burning my a wee bit at my neck and a wee bit at the corner of my forehead and crown, so i'm thinking it might have been strong enough??

IDK i just want to be blonde :(

I've tried dyeing my hair several times before I chose the right color, and I'm lucky my hair didn't fell down.
Why don't you go to a wig shop and try on the color you want before making a decision?

There isn't any near me. :( Unfortunately.

Glasgow + wigs = don't go. Would have to buy one off the internet.

I've had a t-bar dye before with blonde and brown and i really suited it, was only 15 quid at the time, but nowadays (especially with the VAT which i think covers hairdressing??) it would be more expensive you pay like 30 quid just to get your hair washed.

I'm just sick of the same colours To be honest. I just want to try blonde. :(

Well, unless you want a noodle hair tone, you shouldn't dye it yourself.
I see that most people look awful with blond hair because they choose the wrong tone, so go to the hairdresser and he will tell you if it will look good on you.

Good idea hahah
Yeah, it does look kinda noodley

Although, now that it's starting to dry in, doesn't look as bad as i thought, unless you lift my hair up of course, should have just sticked to my origional idea of just dying my fringe hahaha

Only done it myself because noone else would haha.

I'm currently going from black to blond too ( you can see in my pic it's brown with blond highlights since i'm breaking it up in stages ). The reason it's ginger is the bleach is picking up all the colours that have been in your hair and is bring them out. My only advice is since it's winter, wear a hat to cover up the hair till it's ready to be dyed.

Also I got a hairdresser to do mine and she refused to dye it all at once. So yeah my hair is patchy but decent and is certainly healthy. All and all i think it will take me about three -four trips to the hair dresser for it to be just right.

and you're from glasgow? I'm from Fife

Well, I'm a very dark haired person myself.
But, that's the way I was born. I've had all kinds of colours.

If you have dyed your hair dark, or a dark colour (so it's not the natural hair) it will be harder to get light.
I reccomend dying the whole hair blonde XL should be okay to use, it doesn't have to be the strongest kind of blonde hair (apparently, that's what I've been taught).

You'll have to dye it 2-3 times, to get a 'normal' blonde colour.
And you'll probably have to use special shampoo if you want it completely platinum blonde.

I don't reccomend doing this, it will damage your hair greatly.
But, since I've done it myself, amond with much more damaging things. I don't think I'm in a position to tell you what to and what not to do with you hair.

Though, it might fall off if you dye it 3 times in a row 3 days in a row.
So take a week's break inbetween each time you dye it.

Also, feel free to show the results.
/curios

Lol sweeet & thanks for the advice. I have another two blonde dyes (unless my mum has thrown them out.) it's a different company and tone i think though, but i'm sure they should work. So i'll try it out.

Thanks especially you, pin up x
