^ This. My nose piercing really hurt when it was done, and felt weird for a while afterwards, so I suppose the pain someone will feel must vary from person to person; but the pain I felt for a short amount of time was worth it to have the piercing.
My school doesn't allow piercings either - I have been told a few times that my nose stud is "unacceptable" and that I must take it out, but I haven't done and now no one really says anything to me about it. And my stud is coloured. If you want to get it done, I think you definitely should; and if you are worried about getting in trouble at school for having it done, get it pierced with an invisable piercing - you can buy coloured studs for when you're not at school for after the piercing can be removed from your nose
