Default Doing this with your extensions, is this in style(fashionable?)

So this morning I was sitting in class when a girl walks in and sits down.

And i see this (pic below)
I examined her hair which was pretty soft and silky and dark brown
and then examined the extensions which were harder, drier and LIGHTER brown
she kept playing with them (putting them to the side and etc)
is this in style? Or does this girl just not have a sense of style, and doesn't know that she should probably color them closer to her own hair color...?
I'm not trying to make fun of her, this just looks SOOO bizarre

but ot, i have seen that done. the problem is that she didnt cut her extensions to layer with her hair. but i have seen people do that, with like, crazy colors. >.<

but yeah Ive never seen 2 different colors before it looks odd. Maybe she was starting a trend?

I've seen it a lot, actually. a lot of girls even do it with their own real hair. top one color, and the ends another color.

Yea Ive seen that I think it looks cool because you can tell they arent extentions but that picture just looks obvious
