Do any of the lesbians feel torn between femme and androgynous? I like dressing both ways, being androgynous makes me feel safer from being hit on by a guy (I get that a lot when I dress girly and it makes me so uncomfortable) and it screams I'm gay to open up to relationships, but femme makes me feel sexy as well but makes me uncomfortable at the same time.... Would you date an androgynous girl? Also, what type would you identify as and what is your type you like?
It really depends on the girl. Some girls look adorable and sexy when they go androgynous, and some just look like they're trying too hard.
I'm not really big on labels. I'm not exactly girly, but I'm not butch either. I like wearing makeup and somewhat feminine shirts. I don't have girly habits. I generally avoid dresses. I'm not exactly a tomboy either, though.
Personally, I don't care if a girl is feminine or masculine. I'm attracted to distinguishing or unique features, which sometimes happen to be part of androgyny. But I care more about personality anyway, so it doesn't really matter what a girl looks like.
Thanks Anna, that was actually really helpful! I think confidence also helps people pull it off too, and I figure, I'm only really gonna be able to get away with it now due to my future career, so I can make one part of my happy now until I'm done university and have no regrets that I didn't make myself happy twenty years from now
I definitely consider myself femme, very girly, but I think being androgynous is sexy and shows a level of comfort with yourself. I would definitely date an androgynous girl - it depends on the individual, really.
I'm not really very femenine, I don't like wearing skirts or clothes aimed at girls, but I don't go to great lengths to be butch/androgynous. What I wear largely depends on what friends give me or what I can find in charity shops. I don't care much about clothes.
i mostly wear short/3-quarter length trousers and vest tops. I don't wear makeup, i think that makeup hides girls natural beauty. The majority of girls are insecure about their bodies when they don't need to be. for me i'd chose an Androgynous girl just because they know how to be comfortable with their body. (:
