3 inches of blood, my favourite band is from canada. Glad you like canadian music.... not many people think we make any music... well that's probably because I just get to talk to close-minded americans, who don't get Canadian music because they're all afraid it will turn them into Russian commies haha.

Check this song out, if you like the heavier stuff: YouTube - 3 Inches of Blood - Quest For the Manticore [youtube.com]
and check this one out if you like the Dio/Judas Priest stuff: YouTube - 3 inches of Blood - Battles and Brotherhood Music Video [youtube.com]

Battles and Brotherhood is also the coolest music video I have ever seen

Iron Maiden is one band I could never like no matter how much I tried.

I don't even think about being in the same place with Kataklysm (damn, they were in my country but it was in another city which is too far away from mine and it was expensive, duuh)
@Uroborus: you're right..they make it sound sooo good.

I checked out Unexpect and some kataklysm. not my kind of metal, I can;t do the doom vocals, and I don't really dig the seeming randomness of Unexpect, although it sounds pretty cool.

Quo Vadis, however, is really kickass, they remind me a lot of dethklok, with a little more doom. the obsessive doublekick bugs me, but you are right, the bass is insane. i will be more impressed if you tell me the bassist fingerpicks.

I also listened to Eluveitie, and I think they're kickass. I don't like the vocals though, they're too... mainstream metalcore. I love the goatskulls on the bagpipes though
