Whats your favourite band in these types of genres?

I like metal, I like death metal, but the rest are shit in my opinion.

I like too many bands to list, especially with metal. But with death metal I mostly like the old-school Swedish stuff (Dismember, Entombed, Grave) along with classics like Morbid Angel and Death. I also love stuff like Vader and Atheist, and some more modern-ish American death metal like Deicide and Nile but not too much. Not of that more-br00tal-than-thou grindcore crap.

Well if you like death metal have you heard about amon amarth?
But my favourite Death metal band has to be Cannibal Corpse

Well yeah, they're pretty mainstream. But they can only really be considered death emtal at a push.

I'm not a fan of Cannibal Corpse though. Most people just like them for their uber-gory album artwork/lyrics, when the music is pretty mediocre by death metal standards.

In terms of metal I tend to only listen to thrash metal, New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, metalcore, or progressive metal. The following bands are my favourites:

Thrash:

Metalcore:
- Trivium
- Killswitch Engage
- Avenged Sevenfold
- Protest the Hero
- The Human Abstract
(The Human Abstract & Protest the Hero could be considered mathcore and progressive at times)

New Wave Of British Heavy Metal:
- Iron Maiden

Progressive Metal:
- Between The Buried & Me
- Dream Theater

I dont really listen to this music.
