Default Mixing Politics and Music

I hate it when artists do this. I do not like it when people mix their political ideals with music. To me, it's just trashy.
The song can be good and all, but it makes it hard to like it when you disagree with it.

Now, it's different when you hate politics and all that, I don't count that.
But when you favor a side then make a song about it - I dislike that very much.

Because really, I listen to music to escape all the media and news and lies.
I don't wanna hear it, only to be reminded of what I'm trying to get away from, because that makes me dislike a band more than I should.

So basically, I don't like it.

Also, I would like to add that there are some songs that are political and that are good.
The thing is though, they are not as obvious. Most political songs nowadays are really obvious and don't have a double meaning.
If it has a double meaning, then that doesn't count.

Or if it's a political song but sounds like nonsense (ex: Come Together by The Beatles. It was written for a political candidate, but he ended up rejecting it).

Also if it's a song written for a political candidate, that's another thing. As typically, they tend to request those.
I'm talking about in general, as in not meant for any other reason than to be on CD. I hate that.

Thoughts?

Yes, but that's a form of brainwashing.
Using status on ignorant children to convince them you are correct.

And I'm talking about younger children who don't know any better.

I disagree. Many musicians use music as a way to vent things such as emotions or opinions, such as political opinions. I doubt they do it to try and change people's minds, or at leasts the bands I listen to don't anyway, they just do it to voice their opinion and don't really care if people agree or disagree. If you don't agree with it then either ignore it or don't listen to it.

I don't tend to pay attention to the lyrics very much anyway, they're a trivial part of the song to me. And even when I do, I've never come across anything I disagree with enough to stop liking the song as much.

I don't mind political lyrics, it's just a way that some people like to express their opinions on the government/rulers of their country, and things that are going on. I mean, obviously it would put me off if it was a band trying to force their political beliefs onto you, but I've never saw that happen.

So yeah, political lyrics, I don't mind it, I mean even if I disagree with the artists opinion, it's still cool to hear them express themself through music, I mean one of my favourite songs off A Calculated Use Of Sound by Protest the Hero, These Colors Don't Run, is all about politics and yet I love it.

Code:
It’s so egregious so conspicuously wrong
Tens of thousands of people vilified and killed by the means of western hypocrisy.
The double standard of the ways of Mao Ze Dong,
(killing for crimes against country).

1998 the Clinton administration,
bombing the plant of Al – Shifa was merely “retaliation.”
This move would prove detrimental to so many lives, and day by day the death toll is forced to rise.

Bombings won’t justify bombings, death will not justify death.
Death its self justifies nothing, Nothing will come of it.

Terrorism as defined by official U.S. documents is “the calculated use of violence or threat of violence,
to attain goals that are political, religious, or ideological instate.”

A labeled rouge state, Look at your self.

The Rockets red glare (Red like the blood you have spilled),
The bombs bursting in air,
(anonymous graves you have filled,)
In the name of humanitarian intervention will not cease all though by definition, they’re a terrorist act.

Bombings won’t justify bombings, death will not justify death.
Death its self justifies nothing, Nothing will come of it.

Nothing will come of it.

Bombings won’t justify bombings, death will not justify death.
Death its self justifies nothing, Nothing will come of it.

Bombings
Bombings won't justify bombings, death will not justify death.
Death its self justifies nothing, nothing will come of it.
Everything in this song stands out to me, especially the "Bombs won't justify bombings" part. Very cool.
